Weekend Trip to Otter Lake, Second Life

Otter Lake is a quaint fishing village in Second life, a wonderful place to take a small weekend getaway. It is located on a homestead surrounded by water, trees, and mountains. The downtown reminds me a lot of Alaska and the many picturesque towns that surround the lakes. The land has a small downtown area with a country store, several utilitarian shops, and fishing docks. I imagine local restaurants, groceries, and residents would be at the docks bright and early to pick up the freshest fish for lunch and dinner.

There are many cozy places to sit, enjoy coffee, and chat; I love the Adirondack chairs with seating by the water. The chairs give out a blanket that covers you for those chilly evenings. It's the perfect place to relax and watch the sunset.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the town's rustic coffee shop. There is even a full espresso bar in the corner of the cafe where you can order fancy lattes. What a lovely morning reading the local paper and having a moment enjoying coffee and eating homemade donuts.

Natural woodland trails lead to several homes with beds and outdoor seating. One of the homes even has a full kitchen, bed, living room, and bath. I only used the outside spaces, but it is available if you choose. However, you won't have much privacy since this location is well-visited. Otter Lake is the perfect place to visit this fall, take some landscape photos, and spend time alone or with a particular person.
